Let me see your early BLUE CB750s
« on: January 29, 2025, 11:13:00 AM »
Interested in getting a paint job for my spare CB750K2 tank/sidecovers and am considering either Polynesian Blue or Planet Metallic blue or similar….considering going for something other than the stock Gold/black lined stripe.

Anyone got a blue CB750K1/K2 they want to share so I can see it real world?

Thanks
Andy

Sean's should be the Polynesian Blue, though it is close to the Planet Blue

My K4 "Big Bang" bike was blue when I blew it up.  I had it painted Flake Sapphire Blue as I loved that color, it was the color of my first SOHC 550F.

After a rebuild, I changed it to red as I had two other blue bikes...

Thanks again Stu that K5 looks great! I think I’m partial to the Polynesian blue now that Per has posted those two side by side (thank you!)

Steve that red does look really good but I think I’m leaning towards blue. Having said that I’d love to see what a pearl white tank with red stripes would look like - to match my Mini

Planet blue is not bad either.  ;D
We need several tank and side cover sets in all Honda colors like a wardrobe for the bike or bikes.

Swap the set is quickly done ;)

Beautiful colors.
I have a set in freedom green metallic.
There is a bluish/green tone I did not know until I got it on the bike and out for a ride.
Then I understood why some guys on this forum loved their US CB750 K4-74 bikes in freedom green metallic.

My covers have red aftermarket diamonds.
I have yellow with Hm wings for them.

It’s funny when you compare the blues and greens, you put something you think is green beside something that is green and it may look more blue ( if that makes sense).
I got an NOS tank in Freedom Green, ordered paint from VMR to match the side covers , it turned out more blue. Ended up buying painted side covers from Yamiya which matched perfectly.
Also K1 tank badges, just thought they look nicer.
I compared the VMR paint to Candy Blue Green I have and it looked green.

OK, my photo was affected by twilight making it more special ;D
Here same bike in daylight, no sunshine though.

This tank and side covers are repainted stock tank+ aftermarket covers  bought from a US seller/painter in CA 2012.

The Candy Bachus Olive look good too! ;D
