Picked up a new to me '01 Road King yesterday. My wife has been after me for a long time to buy another HD (they are great 2-up bikes) so I sold my BMW which I hardly ever rode and got into another HD. It really is a fun bike to ride, gobs of torque and very relaxing. Used prices have come down a lot, at 11 grand I thought I got a pretty good deal compared to 18 new. 20k miles. I'll post some pics here when I get some on the computer.

friend bought a new road king
750lbs, big bike but i guess it goes down the road real nice and thats what it's all about

I am torn between buying a new Streetglide --->

Or just say screw it and get a RoadGlide --->

All of my buddies are getting baggers lately, and I am sick of trying to avoid potholes and such
on my CB750 when they are cruisng in style with the radio on  :-\

Looking forward to seeing the pics of your new ride...

Wow, great deal! Congrats!  11k is what my wife and I paid for our Sportster 883 custom brand new in 2004.  We added stuff to the base bike plus the 5 year tire/wheel protection plan so it was still worth it.  It is fun to ride together.

Nice color..
Now ditch the windshield, lower it, add some forward controls, wide whitewalls, Reinheart pipes, and so on  ;D

Don't forget the requisite 300 Lbs of chrome...

Seriously. I know a guy who decked out his Road King with every single piece of bling out of the H-D accessory catalog. Just out of curiousity he took his bike to have it weighed. His almost had a heart attack when he learned that his bike tipped the scales at just over 1,000 Lbs!

Nowhere near Bob. Most cars weigh in at at least 1000kg!

Near to me there's a small lane with a weak bridge. The limit on the bridge is 2T mgw (that's 2000kg GROSS)

This means that these folk in their X5/ML/Shogun etc are already breaking the law without having a boot (trunk) full of stuff and passengers in their vehicle.

As you can probably tell, it irritates me.
