Period Accessories Gallery
« on: March 01, 2007, 08:29:16 PM »
I grew up in the late 80s and early 90's, so I don't remember all those cool aftermarket parts for hondas inthe 70's. Could we start a gallery for aftermarket parts? I'd be cool to sneak a peek and great for referance when buying off ebay, garage sales and swapmeets etc....

Let me know what you guys think!

I haven't been around long enough to say definitively, but it sure sounds like a fundamentally good idea at first blush.

Yeah, they're pretty sweet lookin' eh?  I know that they're an Italian design and I know they're for sale in Germany.  I'm not sure where they're made either - gotta be Italy or Germany.  (For some reason I'm having trouble on ebay this morning - getting into the German guy's store.)

Unlike with David Silver Spares (which does have reasonable shipping on their smaller, lighter stuff) it seems as if shipping costs on virtually all things out of Germany are extremely high (to Canada, anyway.)  It's too bad, because from what I can see, the best shopping for 400/4's runs Japan - Germany - England - US, and in that order.  Unfortunately, shipping costs run in the same order - from most expensive to least - in the same order.

Arrrrggghhhhhh!

Good idea.  Let's give it a try.

If you can't post the manufacturer and part number, a link to his site would be good. That way any other interested SOHCers could look it up.  If it's an eBay item, don't bother as their links only last for 60 days.

Post pictures of your stuff here and I'll put them up in a "Period Accessories" Gallery.

I would like to make a request for images of luggage racks for various models , esp. the luggage rack/short backrest combo that would fit my 350F (or other models) please.
I have seen tons of racks, but none are as cool as that one.

I think it sounds like a great idea but it would also help to specify which years and models the parts are for.

Edit: I'm just uploading them here and someone can move them. Sorry about the crappy pics guys a lot of it was low level lighting with nothing to steady the camera.

NOS Tracy Drag Race/ Flattrack tank for CB750:

Bare Rickman CR750 Frame:

RC Engineering Adjustable Drag Racing Swingarm for CB750:

Custom Floating Caliper bracket for mounting cb750 caliper on aftermarket forks:

Kosman Hub (with stainless spokes laced to DID alloy rim and grimecia caliper) setup for RC Engineering Swingarm:

Homemade Brake Duct on Drilled stock rear brake (laced to aluminum rim)

Honda CR750 Front wheel and brakes (rim changed from DID to Akront) setup on stock cb750 forks. Not sure if Magura Clipons are part of the 970 kit or not. All writing on this front end is in japanese (yes it has a speedo drive with dual disc, was required for drag racing class - possibly why stock forks were used).  The CR750 970 tach that 736cc has (had?) came off this same bike.

I don't know if it was set-up with restrictions, but have you tried to upload the pics to that album? If you have trouble, let me know.

Hi Steve, Would you post this shot in the new gallery for me please.  I'll add the info once it's there.

Thanks,

I don't think I can post pictures there myself.  But I've been wrong before.  As far as I can tell, it's only comments I can post.

I appreciate the work involved in setting this gallery up, although I'm wondering if there may be a less cumbersome way of having to go through this topic every time anyone wants to post a picture.
