Topic: 76 CB550 Oil Gallery Plug O ring size or part number?

I've been tracing the source of an oil leak and I think I found it to be coming from a bad gallery plug o ring behind the stator cover (see pic below). What is the size or part number of this o ring? Looking to go OEM if possible.

Go to cmsnl and look up the part number, same for all 500/550 sohc

Once you've changed the O ring, DON'T start the engine until you've refitted the side cover. Those plugs fly across the workshop, usually never to be found again, followed by the oil in the engine. Its a pain to clear up 😊😊😊

I tried there earlier, but it is not under the CB550k diagrams in the alternator/oil pump section.

So when I measured the oil o ring. I came out to something like 17.5x2.5. I assume its because mine is older and stretched out?

How sure are you about this? The diameter of the groove on the plug is .68" the o-ring you suggested is 0.511811" (13mm)

Got it! I see it now! Sorry about that. I was looking on the wrong diagram. It's listed under crankcase section and NOT the alternator/oil pump section. Thanks a ton guys!

if you need weird or special o rings or copper washers get friendly with your local proper diesel pump and injector service place,they got the lot,for a few bucks youll get what you need.
