The battery is a LiFePo-unit that I´ve placed behind the engine under the swing arm.
The green top of the battery can be seen in most pics.
It cranks the 1000 cc twin with ease, the specs can be seen in the pic below:

Congratulations on exceeding the goal for weight. You have built a really nice bike. I'm sure you will have few issues with the motor start up and tuning.

Look forward to some photos of it out enjoying what it was built for next riding season!

I have cranked it with no sparkplugs until oil reached the heads, so at least I know the oilpump is doing its job.
During the priming of the oilpump I also checked for spark, and both front and rear was healthy.
So the next step is to open the fuel taps, pull the choke plungers, give it a good crank and see what happens.
If it runs with no strange noices I´ll let i warm up fully, and then sync the carbs.
Once it has cooled down I´ll check the valve clearences once more and re-tighten the heads.

Should be good to go after that  :)

Been trying to buy this particular bike for the last 15 years or so from the original builder/owner/racer and finally was offered to buy it this summer  :D

I honestly think this is one of the coolest transformations I’ve ever seen. If I could buy one, I would!

As can be seen on page two in this thread I´ve ridden it for two summers on all kinds of roads (paved, dirt, single tracks etc.) to "iron out" and fix any mistakes in the design or construction before I tore it down to apply paint and restore the engine etc.
So, yes it has been out and about but not in this final condition... and as it´s winter and all white outside that will not happen in the nearest future  ;D

Well, a lightweight fender would be a good thing even if it doesn´t add to the design...
But so far I have not found one that I´ve liked, hence no fender has been fitted  :)
