CB350F tachometer cable bracket
« on: February 09, 2022, 09:04:59 PM »
There is a wire bracket that attaches to the horn mount on the CB350Four. It supports the tachometer cable. This is missing on the bike I just bought and I may have to make one from scratch. Could someone please post some pictures of this bracket along with dimensions and thickness of the wire. Thanks for the help

Check out the parts catalogue for an idea of what it looks like. The bracket on a 500 is made of 3.3mm ( probably 1\8 inch) wire. Probably the same for a 350. Bit of brazing rod, maybe do the trick?

Yes you could scale from the picture here and use material Kevnz suggests.

It might be far easier to search eBay for "Honda tach cable clamp" to find something very similar.  The clamps are normally made of a rather stiff, springy steel that has been chromed.

I might have one, or thee might be one at the Salvage Yard in Phoenix. I can check, but I won't be back until May or June.

I’ve made them out of a 5 gallon bucket handle in the past.

Here's a photo. The bike isn't with me right now so I can't get dimensions, but  I think the comment about using a 5 gallon bucket wire is very close, nobody'd know the difference. You can zoom in on the original picture; it's got good detail of the bracket/clip.

That looks like a 500 four one with an extra bend, or two.

Disagree. Looks like the one in the parts book to me.

What i meant was you could put an extra couple of bends into a 500 one to make a 350 one

I think he means it's similar to a 500 one with an extra bend to mount it at 90 degrees to the bracket.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I think I have what I need. Sorry for my own slow response, I have been traveling. It will be a while, like the end of the year, before i need this part. But if I make the part, I will want to send it for re-chroming along with a few other pieces in the next few months.

It’s too bad that part was available from 4 into 1 in the past, as a reproduction. Not anymore though, so possibly not a high enough demand.
