1983 Suzuki GS750ES tires..
« on: March 02, 2022, 05:51:22 PM »
I've got this 1983 GS750ES that needs a pair of tires.I want to go with stock sizes:120/90H17 Rr. and a 100/90H16 Fr.
I have looked online and called a few large warehouses but so far nothing(some of them have told me they're having supply problems lately)for a matched set of the same brand/model tires:I want to keep from mix/matching brands.I could get by with V rated tires if H rated aren't available.I was hoping to find a pair for around $200+ somewhere..

Have you looked for a set of Shinkos? I got a set with some other stuff a few years ago and put the them on the Rickman to “roll around”. They look great and are very well priced!

I have been looking at them also, the 712's? seem like a good sport tire and affordable.
I can't seem to find my stock sizes;I want to keep stock sizes.

We just picked up our tires for the 80' GS1100E. We got Avon Roadrider MkII's, ordering took two weeks. 110/90-18 front and 130/90-17 rear.

We have them on over half our bikes. 8)

We have our guy at Seattle Cycle Center order and install them for us. With 11 bikes we buy a lot of tires and they take good care of us.

Oops wrong tire size in my head, those sizes are for the 83' CB1100 F.
The Suzuki GS1100 E tire sizes are 100/90-19 front and 120/90-17 rear. 8)
The 16" front we got for the Interceptor 1000 is a 120/80-16

OK Problem solved  :)
I found the Bridgestone BT46 Battlax(successor of the BT45)tires are just what I was looking for.
They have So many different metric sizes which will fit many vintage bikes plus modern bikes.
I ordered a 120/90V17 manufactured in 2020' for the Rr. to start:cost me $146.26 to my door.I'll order a BT46 100/90x16 Fr. next after some more $ comes in;it'll cost me $110 to my door.
The rear I got from Chaparral/chapmoto.com and it arrived overnight.

Not that many in that size, the tire he bought was manufactured in 2020.

There aren't many bias-ply 17" tires anymore as most 17" street tires are radials.

I meant that I've heard a lot of good buying experiences, and even through the pandemic they've had mostly everything in stock compared to other retailers that would take your order before telling you that your tires are backordered.
