No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Painted in 88, I'm seeing a k1 with a bobbed front fender and a paint job. Oil on canvas signed and dated. I searched the artist's name and google finished the last name for me, I thought maybe he was known but he has the same name as an NFL player.

Looks a bit like the artist was running out of room to fit the bike onto the canvas and had to bend the front end back a bit to make it fit.
Exactly same colour as my K2 when I bought it, dont think it was a standard colour either.
Unless it is signed by Pablo Picasso or similar I wouldn't be giving up your day job yet Don.

looks like a painting of a cheap model?they always look a bit out of proportion, hasnt got the factory decals or paint so Im  guessing its a painting of someones pride n joy from 1988?

I think it's on the side stand leaned over and the forks were aimed right, I'd agree that someone wanted his bike painted. According to the tag on the back someone else bought it because it reminded him of his old cb650.
For $20 and since there weren't any dogs playing cards or an Elvis on velvet, why not add it to my shop art collection?
I'll put it next to my Mario Andretti poster and mint Sturgis 75th anniversary Budweiser banner. I also have our old dragster body hung up and a few old Honda magazine ads. There are two early 50's coca cola metal signs hiding out there that were never mounted and near perfect.

Hay Don. Its art , not a picture. A fair bit of work would have gone into that.
Can't argue with 20 bucks.

 I thought I smelled gas!
Right now it's in the living room. My wife used to sell art supplies, she appreciates the material and amount of talent and work involved. She mentioned since it was painted in 1988 the oil is just finally dry. It measures 24" x 36" so $20 doesn't come close to covering the materials.

I found the artists name in an art show, the door prize was a spot in an oil paint class taught by him, bring your own brush, value $.50 lol. I'm sure it meant $50.

My Granddaughter asked about the painting and we looked up the artist. Warren Wells, there is a display of his paintings in an art studio in Detroit.
No other bikes, just impressionist oil paintings. I was hoping to find a $20 KZ1000 or Goldwing. L0L!

You never see motorcycles or cars featuring in old school classic art by the masters. Even though a KZ1000 or Goldwing by Michealangelo would be pretty cool.
There is an art Museum in town here called Mona that is just something else and this piece called "Fat Car" is one of its permanent exhibits.
Underneath it is a real Porsche.

Actually, I'm no fine art connoisseur but compared to what's in the gallery I think this may be his best work. When I see the chrome and reflections of light, I know I couldn't do that.

I’d say $20 well spent! I’d hang it in my shop. Nice.
