Hi guys well this new gas price got me motivated to get my bike out. I am charging the battery now but need to hook up my trailer and go over to my other garage to get it. I took the bike apart about 5 years ago cleaned and reassembled it and ran it around because it was also just sitting for 5 years prior. My carbs have been run dry 5 years ago, I re built the break system 5 years ago, and poured out the gas from the tank and added in the tank about a 1/2 cup of motor oil. I wrapped up my seat and it is in my heated basement. I hope I did a good job we will see  this weekend. Here is my pic when I rode it 5 years ago.

  • To many bikes-but lookin' for more
Hope she wakes up with no problems. When it warms up around my neck of the woods 45-50 mpg will be better then my F250 truck !

Just like the old days when bikes were an economical means of transport. Then along came cheap Japanese import cars and bikes fell out of favour, except as occasional use toys. Wheel comes full circle!

Welcome back Jeff.  Guessing your caliper may need to be cleaned, mine did after sitting for a year or so.

thanks guys good to see you again Stev-o I just pulled in the driveway at my house with it. DEAD weight up the 3 rail by myself. Wooo I not what I used to be hahaha. Took me about a million hours to load a bike. Yup Stev-o had to loosen the bolts on the caliper to move it.

Yeah...been there.   Do yourself a favor and pump the piston out of the caliper before disconnecting the brake line, or it can be a challenge to get it out  [Unless you do the grease gun trick]
