Carb Overflow Drain Hoses - Found some nice stuff
« on: March 08, 2022, 05:56:31 PM »
Just wanted to put this product out there that I came across from a chainsaw supply company.  It’s 3mm ID, just .5mm smaller than OEM, with a thinner wall, but made for gasoline… unlike something like windshield washer hose.

For my fuel line, I have Honda OEM, But for these overflow drain lines, I really didn’t wanna shovel out the money for OEM for multiple bikes.  The lengths are way longer than fuel tank lines and they shouldn’t see much gas exposure anyway.

So I found this stuff.  Nice and supple, nice flexibility, no kinks; and slides over the nipples nice and snug with no need for clamps.  Also less bulky than the stock lines.  Good price - US $15 for 25ft.

I’m liking it so figured I’d share.  I’ll post a few pics of it on the bike as well.  Cheers!

Just a FYI the correct Honda hose in a 30’ roll is still available along with the tiny wire clamps. Good option though for someone looking to save a few bucks on a second option.

Common sense.....isn't so common!

I kept finding the honda hose - US $25 for 10 feet.  Not sure how much the 30ft roll is.  Funny thing is I just did another quick search and one of the first hits on Google is a thread on the sohc4 forum from 2009 titled “Carb overflow hose for $30, What?!”  And Dave500 says “any chainsaw/lawnmower shop has the same hoses…”

So this is not any great discovery, but I live in a large metropolitan city;  no chainsaw supply places or lawnmower places for that matter.  But I found this stuff online and I’m digging it.

Sorry my mistake it is a 10 ft roll. I was dreaming about the 30 ft one it seems.  :)

Thanks for the info on that. Just in time as I'm completing several 4 cylinder bikes that will need drain lines. Ben using the Honda line but is a bit expensive. Nice to save a few bucks
