Cb750k4 carb rebuild, is a bowl vent supposed to be missing?
« on: March 20, 2022, 12:16:28 PM »
Hey everyone, I bought a cb750k last winter that needed some work. I got it to start but now I am doing some maintenance and stripping the carbs to clean them, tune, and sync. However when taking it apart it looks like one bowl vent from the right and left side carbs, 1 and 4 are missing. I’m not sure if that is normal or not and can’t find any reference photos online or in Hondamans book.

I have some pictures to reference what I am talking about attached. I was only able to upload one picture from my phone for some reason, so just imagine the same missing bowl vent on the opposite side. The middle carb has both.

Only the inside carbs have the connection nipple for the vent tube that goes up, and over the air box. Carb one and two are connected together with a vent tube (look closely). Similarly, carb 4  is connected to 3, which is vented to atmosphere. When parted, make sure you replace all the “0” rings on the fuel pipes that cross connect the carbs......

Thank you! I was panicking that the carbs were ranched so that eases my mind a bit.

Thanks for the o-ring advice, I’ll have to search the forum to see a good gasket/o-ring replacement kit for the carbs, I know that topic has been beaten to death.

I think a 2x8mm will work on the fuel pipes but my bag of them is at my shop to check for sure. Memeber Johnie says he would get his from NAPA.
