The machined cones finally showed up after the postal strike. Grabbed a length of 3/4-10 threaded rod, nuts and washers and set it up.

No issue with the frame. Measured from multiple points and it is not out. Very thankful.

The new triple tree top clamp showed up and it fits perfectly. A lot cleaner than the original top clamp. Once I know for sure how I am mounting the speedo and tach I will remove the excess mounts to clean it up some more.

The new top clamp is off a 1981 kz1000 CRS. The rest of the front end is a 1981 kz1000 ltd

That front end should look cool.
It's too bad everybody lives so far apart. I have a frame jig made from 2X3 box tubing tacked together, I checked out a similar frame on it.
At the rear it has 1/2" steel mounts with holes for the 20mm axle and the swingarm. The front has frame shims and clamps. For measuring, I used plumb bobs and a triple tree with a piece of chrome moly tube inserted through it.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Thanks Don. I think the front end will work out good.

Yes it is too bad we are not closer. I would definitely like to utilize the frame jig you have. Not to mention see your collection.
