I used Cruzinimage fibers when my K6 had 836, ca 80whp.
https://www.cruzinimage.net/2017/12/20/76-78-honda-cb750k6-cb750k7-cb750f2-clutch-friction-plate-2/

It got EBC CK1145 clutch fibers with 1005cc build, later an F2 clutch with the same fibers. Glass beaded metals except for double metal disc that is massaged by emery cloth for rougher surface. That is 970cc build today.

My K2 has also Cruzinimage clutch
Work fine.
+59whp  2 years ago. It runs better now (carbs).

It fits Sandcast too? https://www.cruzinimage.net/2017/12/20/honda-cb750k1-cb750k2-cb750k3-cb750k4-cb750k5-seven-clutch-plate-set/

Lucky you….. ended up taking mine apart and the plates were stuck in three solid stacks!

Have you ever tried using an ultrasonic cleaner to shake them apart ??  ???

No I never thought of that! Next time.

The new set I have appear to be the same K1-K5 set. Measure the same as the Sandcast. The only difference is the tabs on the fibre plates are back cut on the newer set. The originals are plain, squared off.

I left the clutch tied back overnight, this afternoon it seemed much better so I took it for my usual test loop. About 85 mph for two miles and then it died at the same stop sign it died at two times before. The first two times were battery related or so I thought. It's been apart and got honed and new rings since then.
Long story short, I'm not riding it again with this motor. The "clutch noise" may very well be something more serious.
My old "just get it running" plan was ill conceived and poorly put into action.

Sounds like a good plan….. Drop the small pan and see if there are any surprises? I did the clutch on my Sandcast project today and all it needed was a really good clean out. It was a gooey mess, but after a cleaning and sanding the plates it all went back together smoothly and works a treat….. maybe have a look?

I was in there recently checking the primary chains, they are at maximum flex. I think I need a trip to see Ken at CycleX.
I've collected a set of new 65 and 61mm wiseco piston kits. I just dug out six, cylinder blocks including an old HA900, three early stockers, an 1124 that's 72mm and scored, I have an F2 motor that I want to put my turbo charger on. It gets new kibblewhite I have valves with kens guides and beehive springs.

I looked up my ring gaps, they look right. The pistons might be loose in the bores, I wonder if that could make an engine get tight and soft seize?
I don't see any way out of a total overhaul, I cheaped out. Didn't pay.

This motor isn't running again until it comes apart. (Edit, changed my mind) I'm undecided whether to rebuild this motor or start with the low mile K6 engine. Knowing what's going on inside this piece would help, it turns over easily now that it's cool. This soft seizing business happened before I re-ringed it too.
It did a 70 mile round trip with no issues but I didn't go 85 mph, that trip was 65-70 max. All I really know about the insides is it's an 836 with RC stock rods, a ported and rebuilt head, good oil pressure, a lockhart oil cooler, it shifts good but the clutch is wonky.

I started it today, the primary is loud but it's at max wear so that's not a shocker. I think I'll run it again with the air/fuel meter on it just to be sure it didn't go lean at wide throttle.

Thanks, I was inspired by the parts I got from the previous owner and another drag bike I've had for a while.
It needs more motor now. It has soft seized after being ran hard a couple times before, and since I honed it, re-ringed it and put on a freshened and previously ported cylinder head. I'm at a loss to explain it unless loose pistons will cause it, or I got the ring gap too tight. I have a new in box Wiseco 836 kit but I'm really thinking bigger.
The Rat Race got a new set of K&N oval filters, they came off of the 29 smoothbores that were on my GS1100, they must be better than the smallish cheapos it had on it. The dark red filters look good next to this paint also.
I've been riding it around town, it runs normally unless I really run it hard.

Work on my Hondas has been slowed by the re-commissioning of an 81 GS1100 Suzuki. I spent what I was going to spend on a SOHC4 engine and got a newer Superbike.

Since I ride in traffic, I felt the need to have turn signals. I put stockers on it but they look wonky on this bike. One of the parts piles I bought came with some Drag specialties rectangular lights, there are two that need one lens but new pairs come with 4 lenses. I think I'll buy a pair and then I'll have enough parts to make a set of 4, yellow fronts and red rears.

I'm wiring the drag specialties turn signal/marker lights. I think I'll wire the fronts as running and turn lights, am undecided whether to use the rears as running/ turn lights, brake/turn lights or just blinkers.

I'm undecided about how to use the lights, the difference between the high and low filaments isn't a lot. With the running light on, the blinker isn't as noticeable. I expect to see the same thing with the rear, running / turn signal.

CycleX has stroker pistons that would work in the old stroker motor. At 70mm they are a bit smaller than the 72's in it now but would still be close to 1100 cc's. I really need a 6 hour drive north.

Tonight, I found a new right euro style control switch in the box of drag bike stuff. I'm not fond of the repro left control on the Rat, I'm thinking I'll add a nice stock left control switch with hi/lo and use this new right for the LED parking light. That will make a push/pull cable work on the Mikuni's, I already have the return (push) cable that matches the pull cable on it.
Looking forward to pulling wires through the 400F handlebars.

Heat the wires with a heat gun to soften the sheath for easier running the wires through the bars. I heat the bars too. I also tape a pull wire to the ends to push and pull the wires through the bars(clamp the bars in a vice)

Thanks for the tips, I have used the pull wire trick before, I have a set of medical scissors and cut off hard sheath and replace it with shrink tube. At times it's hard enough that I can tap it with a hammer and shatter it apart.

Depending on if you want stock looks, the expandable braided poly tubing makes a clean install, if you can pop the rubber bullet sheaths off or tape them so they don't snag going through. Cheap electrical tape to wrap the wire ends to make pulling easier, don't want to waste good Scotch 33+ tape on that job to just peel it off and toss it after pulling.

But building new harnesses with the expandable braid sheathing is easier if you terminate things after pulling the wires through. Little heat shrink on ends of braid over wires and it won't unravel.

I like that, we had a little of that in the wiring box but wasn't sure where it came from, I used it on my brothers K2 custom 750 project.  I'm also working on a car project that needs some wire cover. Thanks for the link.
I just realized that the turbo drag bike frame has a set of 400F bars on it. I can put the new controls on those bars and leave these bars loaded with what's on there.

Those low bars from a 400F were on my cb550K. I’d forgotten how much I liked them! I may have to get a set for my 750K1 this winter.
