Speedo swap from MPH to KMH
« on: March 26, 2022, 03:30:34 PM »
Hi,
I have a CB500 four K0 project in progress.  It had no speedometer or tachometer when I bought it.
It would have originally had a MPH speedo fitting from new so that is what I have been searching for, but have had no luck. And no reproductions available either.

However, there are KPH speedos from Europe available, so I thought that would be the next best option.

Since the part number for the speedometer drive gear at the front axial is the same for the MPH and KPH models then the odometer itself must be geared differently between MPH and KPH instruments. If so, there should be no issue with accuracy if I fit a KPH speedo instead of MPH, but I thought I'd check here also as there is a great amount of information out there amongst other members.

Yes you can fit a kph straight on, there are people who refurb the old clocks and i propbably have a set of used ones about somewhere, shipping from UK whould probably be expensive though.
If you are interested pm me with a direct email address and i will see what i have, put your full postal address and i will check on shipping
