Reproduction seats CB750 with logo
« on: April 02, 2022, 09:51:10 AM »
I'm looking for a cb750 k1 reproduction seat with logo on the back. I was going to go with David Silver spares but they come without the logo. Yamiya is sold out. Not looking to go the seat cover route. Any recommendations?

You may be better off just settling for no logo, and figure out how to spray it on yourself.  Honda keeps getting after the bigger, better suppliers.  So probably the only ones that get away with it are very low volume, lesser quality.
If it works good, it looks good...

I bought one of the new seats listed on Ebay. I believe they are made in Vietnam. Pretty good quality. Not sure if they have a logo.

Thanks. I forgot about the Vietnam eBay sellers. I'll take a look.

I bought a DSS seat for my CB350F project and the quality is quite good, yet no logo as noted it is a infringement of Honda’s patents. I ordered a few sets of Honda seat stencils from a EBay vendor a few years ago, so I had them available.
I stenciled the seat with a rattle can silver and it came out like OEM. I will post a few pics once I am at that computer file.

If you go to the UK site and look for Piki who sponsors the site as Redice i think he does most of the stickers and the seat stencil and im sur he posts to US from europe
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

I hade 350F and 550 seat covers made in Indonesia for a while, including the Honda logo, and sold them for a few years on fleabay. Things went south with my partner there and I stopped bringing them in, but I always thought it would be really easy to just make a stencil of the Honda logo and use the right kind of paint and just DIY. I have a couple seat covers and could copy the logo so the size is right and make a template.

Thanks for all the info. I can't go the seat cover route because the foam I have is on the seat is a weird mid 80's cafe style. Looks awful. I would need to buy foam as well so might as well go with a new seat.

That’s what that is from DSS is a reproduction complete seat of high quality with no logo, until I placed one on there. Unless you want to have a seat pan rebuilt, or do it yourself with foam and a new seat cover with a Honda logo already on the cover.

I used a silver DupliColor spray paint I had in stock, which may have been the aluminum engine paint.  :) I know Duplicolor makes a paint specific for vinyl material, yet this bike will be an indoors model. No sun fade, yet if it was a outdoor rider bike I would source a paint specific for vinyl.

This is the paint I always use for the seat stencils. You can get about 15 seat logos sprayed out of 1 tin 😁😁😁 I get all my stencils from Piki on the UK forum(Diego Corral)
