Hi from New Zealand
« on: April 02, 2022, 05:08:20 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have recently bought my first Honda four. A ‘77 CB550F super sport!
It’s a project, and I have managed to figure out most things so far. But I gather there will be a lot I have missed or don’t know and that there is a wealth of knowledge on here!

Here is a picture of the bike so far. Still a long way to go tho!

Nice project!  8)
The 550 is a nice riding bike. Did you get the bike with the mods already done and are you planning changes?
When I built my 74' 550 I wanted a clean but rideable mild cafe style. The more extreme bikes look great but can get tiring to ride.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I’m loving the bike, and the project of restoring it in a slightly different style. New brakes etc will be great too.

The only issue I am having is wiring. I bought a harness from 4into1 but am having an absolute nightmare with it  :'(

Post questions in the tech section, you'll get more views there.  Or better yet, start a thread in the project shop area to show progress of your rebuild. Good luck
