Help finding an O ring size
« on: April 04, 2022, 12:08:18 PM »
Looking for an O ring that goes on the rocker covers for my 550. Part no is 91319323000. What are the dimensions? hoping to find some at Ace instead of spending $20 on davidsilver.
Thanks

I don't have the answer but the metric o-ring kit from Harbor Freight probably has the right size and it's under $10

6x3, but I would buy the genuine Honda part.

$5.77 shipped.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403375724094?epid=1723281461&hash=item5deb11163e:g:nEcAAOSwvRdhx3XY

I keep seeing the 6x3 but I don't know what that specifies or how to find other options with the same size

6 x 3 = 6mm ID x 3mm Cross section.
Trust me I'm a Nurse, I promise it won't hurt....much

What do you mean by rocker covers?
Circular caps where you adjust tappets
Squarish end caps held by a screw
Cam cover above cam
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Went and bought the HF kit and it doesn't have the right size >:( and ace doesn't carry metric rubber. I'll keep searching

This is for a Viton O ring but there are other materials to choose from.

I think they are the 6x3 stretched to fit BUT the more common oil leak is the lack of soft alloy sealing washer between the steel angle bracket the end cap screws to and the cam cover

Also, often the steel bracket faces that the washers ( upper and lower) seat on are mangled, so even if there are washers fitted, they don't seal well.
