mini guage pics....
« on: March 09, 2007, 10:35:15 AM »
I've been looking, and despite all the threads regarding mini guages (most of which talk about ratios and what not), I can't find any pics (I may just be blind.)  Would anyone mind posting some pics, as my finger is about 4 inches away from ordering a new mini tach and mini speedo, and before I do it, I'd like to see what you all have.  thanks

Can you provide a link to where you are considering buying from?

obviously I would have to get the correct ratio, but here are a couple sites.  crc2 was mentioned by a few people on this forum, but I found the denniskirk stuff on my own...

Those would look real nice.  The tach's only go up to 8k though .. seems a bit low.

I hope I can post his pic of the gauges that I've been using for the past three years or so with no problems to speak of.  The only issue I've had is the speed indicated in the 60 to 70 mph range is high, when compared to my GPS.

Here's a shot of the mini gauges on my 750.  I purchased them from Old Bike Barn but I was not real pleased with their customer service.  The gauges read fairly accurately with no flickering.  The speedo has a trip meter and LED idiot lights built in.  I have seen this speedo in the Drag Specialties catalog and on the MikesXS website.

I wish mine had the trip odometer... :(  Anyway, I got mine from JC Whitney.  They've worked great all this time, with no fluttering and held up to the vibration (and a couple of rainstorms).  Made the outer shells from billet alum. and had them yellow anodized.
links: first is the speedo, second is the tach.
