Picked up a 1994 CB1000
« on: April 09, 2022, 06:58:02 PM »
I have a friend who has a huge collection of motorcycles and he had several of these 1000's and he needed to move them on to make more space.  This one was one of the most complete.  It had a 17 inch wheel conversion done sometime in the past but, I changed it back to 18 inch wheels to keep it as stock as possible (he already had the wheel set).  These pictures are just mock up's, it needs some work.  The tank had a massive dent in the left side which my LT at the fire station has pulled out for me.  Now it's on to all of the small stuff and missing parts.  The gauges are long gone and impossible to find, there are Chinese knockoff's available but the quality is awful.  I know they were only in the states for 2 years and globally longer but there is almost no parts left out there for them.  Just about everything is NLA.  This bike is a bit of a challenge but I'll have it running in a week or 2 and hopefully riding not long after that.  Maybe a little later on down the road I can restore it like it deserves.

I noticed that too.  There is some heft with this bike, not awful though it's balanced well.  The cat I got it from had one he has been riding with his wife and they really love it, and that is compared to his collection of Duc's, Guzzi's, BMW's ect...

I guess it's a good thing my wife is petite. ;D  It does look a little high but, Honda was always good with balance and weight distribuition.
