Fairing Oddity
« on: March 03, 2007, 04:45:25 AM »
I had occasion to stop at the M/C Hall of Fame Museum outside of Columbus, OH this week. Among the displays was a Vetter fairing with a retractable windshield, new one on me. It worked, but not a particularly attractive unit in my opinion and with the the windshield retracted, though not entirely, it looked even less attractive. It was only marketed for a couple of years back in the mid-90's, I think I can understand why only a couple of years and from the looks of it, it was probably aimed at the HD market at that.

Here's a link to the history of Vetter fairings. http://www.craigvetter.com/pages/Vetter_Fairings/Every_Vetter_Fairing_made.html Craig Vetter wasn't involved with Vetter Fairings after '78 when he sold it.

Bob...It looks like only 50 of those fairings were made...understandable. ;)

Probably makes them as rare and valuable as a sandcast 750. ;D

Vetter has actually tried to sell more than one unfortunate looking fairing design IMHO.

Bob, there's something in my back yard that may be very valuable, by your criteria.   I'll be glad to gather it up with a shovel and send it to you...
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!
