Hey guys,

I just registered a few minutes ago and am making myself known.

I purchased a '75 CB550F in October 2006. I'll get to my profile info in a bit.

Yep, working on the pictures part. Just have the one I've got up on the avatar picture. I had a minor spill a couple of weeks ago, so my previously flawless bike now has a some good road rash on the number 4 header pipe. After I get that worked out I'll exercise my vanity and post some more.

I bought the CB550F in October; apparently with 8,900 miles. Title indicates an odometer discrepancy, but based on the visible condition of the frame and engine I'm inclined to believe the odometer. As far as I can tell, the bike is mostly original. Exceptions are the black paint and side covers as well as the stepped seat cushion and cover. The previous owner also replaced the faded gauge faces with new, or newish, OE ones (might be the reason for the odometer disclaimer). I just found out yesterday while tire shopping that the rear wheel is 16", rather than the original 18" size on the '75 CB550F. Weird.

My plans for the bike are pretty simple. To keep it clean and running well and attempt to keep my urges to modify it to minimum. I did break down and buy a handle bar with no rise, but haven't installed it yet. I also bought a new seat cover to restore it back to the flat style. I'm hoping I can just remove the extra layer of foam, but haven't made time to get into it either. I just want to ride the damned thing, and it's been a mild winter here in Atlanta.

Oww...it always hurts to scratch up a pretty ride.

But, then you're not afraid of scratching it up anymore.  :)

Hi Al_Aaraaf,

Where are you in Atlanta? I just bought my '75 550K in November and joined here a few weeks ago. There are a lot of new CB owners in Atlanta. We need to ride. I actually live in Alpharetta, but work in the city.

I live in the downtown area. You're right about the CB owners I think. I've been seeing more of them in the past year than I remember ever seeing before. We should definitely ride. With a beer stop, of course.
