For 15 years my big brother had 8 crates of CB750 parts in his shed. Every time I went to his house I would ask him what he was going to do with them and he always had some elaborate plan. The last time I asked what he was going to do with them he said "you can have them, go get your trailer". I have never pulled my trailer down the highway that fast before! The pile consist of 2 bikes a K2 and a K8 minus 1 frame. I built my Herman Munster on the K2 frame and I love my bike just as much as I love my brother and I forgive him for beating me up all those years.
Resurrecting a Herman Munster CB750 from a few old baskets of K2 and K7 parts.

Wow and double wow.....

Shop organization is going well again. Usually pride myself in getting used cheap/used stuff for my shop but probably going to have to buy 2 2x4s to build this shelf in the shop. Maybe a 1 5/8 hole saw.

I found the long missing pad cover for my rear F0 caliper. I bolted it back on right then before it got lost again.

Finally got around to crawling under my diesel to try to remove the broken starter bolt and it came out super easy. That is a happy moment and more than a small success of the day

So my buddy got a 3d printer.
I got the engine lathe.
Together, things could get really interesting.
Naturally, i had to download some software.
But after a couple hours, i was able to come up with a few things.
It may not have been the software I wanted, but turned out to be the software i needed.

Went for breakfast with my better half (much better!) to one of our favourite stops, this morning. East City Coffee Shop, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Small place, got served by the son and grand daughters of the original couple that opened the place +60 years ago. Probably only 6 booths and 10 stools at the counter. They did a nice job renovating the place during a COVID shut down, but it still feels the same and breakfast was better than ever! Noisy, friendly place that restores my faith in basic, good human nature.

My wife noticed one of the gals tossed a few good shakes of salt in the coffee grounds, every time she made a fresh pot (we were at the counter). I meant to ask her “why?”..... Anybody seen that before? We came out more than Happy-ish. And full.

That's interesting. Never heard of that at all.

If you find out please do post.
I love a good mom and pop shop. Luckily there are a few good small coffee shops around here. Would love to get the old lady out to one again soon. You have just inspired our next little "date".

Found this:
“Yhe addition of salt in coffee dampens bitterness without using other additives. Salt naturally brings out the sweetness of coffee and maintains pleasant aromas. If people are sensitive to bitterness, even in specialty coffee, adding salt is a good alternative to using milk and sugar.”

Never heard that before, but lots of references!

See the link I posted... It talks about how much... It will depend upon you either brewing it with salt or if you are adding it later. It doesn't remove the bitterness but instead the salt activates the taste receptors in your tongue that would play a role in the bitterness blocking that bitterness...allowing other flavor profiles 8n the coffee to come forward. You won't be adding as much sugar or cream or other things with the bitterness reduced, it changes the coffee flavor you are starting from a different baseline. So, you then add things you normally like in you coffee little by little...

If you are adding it to already brewed coffee, the as little as 1/4 tsp salt could be enough.

Starbucks nasty stuff not withstanding...nothing can help that crap...

Lots of interesting stuff I’d never heard before. The lady at the diner put two healthy shakes (from one of their glass table salt shakers) on top of the coffee she poured into the filter basket on a regular size counter machine. I did the same this morning for my usual brew. Not sure I can tell any difference!

I recently rode the Cascade Loop in Washington state with my son and 4 of his buddies. I went from being my son's dad to just one of the crew. It was a great time. My son is the one in the back holding a drink.  Planning for next year already. Cliff.

Hwy 20 is one of my favorite roads. My buddy says that I know every bump on that road. We always stop in Leavenworth for brauts and a beer.

Pretty excited for the weekend.
Daddy daughter date to my Buddy's club's car show.
Likely doing a quick mini photo shoot with a woman I used to personal train, we are still great friends.
And then will prob go eat with her and my daughter in the nearest town before heading back home for sleep. Then work and that's double time night. Seems like a good plan for me.
