I live with PTSD, Bi Polar, Anxiety, ADHD and am most likely Autistic.

This time of year till New Years day can be very challenging.  This year I am also coping with a back back that has me laid up.

Now with all that being said I have breath in my lungs, I have my witts about me and I have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

I have been through some substantial things in my life. Vehicle crashes that should of left me dead. Prison time. Time in and around the MC world (no regrets either).

All in all the trials and tribulations have brought me to a place of thankfulness. It was and is a blessing. Even now the struggles I face day to day. It is like they say there is not testimony without a test. May God be glorified.

Hope you all have a fabulous day

I appreciate you.

Thank you.

I'm happy that I took tomorrow off to ride, the forecast calls for a high of 80F and it'll be 60° by 9am.

Finished up my 20 radiation treatments for prostate cancer about four weeks ago. The side effects are starting to fade, and I'm sleeping a bit better, not needing to pee 4 times a night. Amazing how we take simple things for granted.

Radiation is fun stuff, not.
In 2016 I had 45 fifteen minute treatments and 6 hour long Cyberknife treatments for stage 4 prostate cancer. The 15 minute treatments weren't too bad but the hour long Cyberknife treatments were brutal. I was radiation sick for 2 months.

I had to go back for 12 more hour long Cyberknife treatments that ended August 22nd. They were treating hotspots where the cancer took hold after escaping the prostate. I'm now starting to get my energy back. The Dr said it should give me another 10 years.

I've been through a little but I'm  not on my way back from places like you've been, and honestly you're probably much closer to finishing your cb750 than I am. I'm lucky to have a reliable bike to tinker with to help try to keep me sane.

It is all a journey. I might get flack for this but I have rode through some of the most vile weather known to man. Building them is better therapy than riding now adays. My days of having to prove something on the road are done. When this 750 is done it will be a fairweather cruiser. It will perform none the less. I plan on making this bike my last for a long time so it is going to be exactly what I want no matter how long it takes. Patience was never my strong suit. I am learning it with this one.

i'm getting to that point now, it's taken me over 10 years to getting anywhere near finishing the 750 dirt bike and i'm already planning how the chopper is going to look. i'm happy as a pig in #$%* just tinkering in the garage. don't get me wrong, when its finished i'm going to put plenty of km's on the dirt bike as well as the chopper ( but thats a few years away ) and when i feel the need to prove something on the road i've got a Vmax

I think most of us here are about helping others wrench as much as wrenching or riding. This has always been one of the friendliest forums around.
And there's a ton of knowledge here just waiting for the right question or someone to search out old posts.

In a buy-out of a guys collection of stuff, I got some drag specialties turn signal/marker lights. I assembled two of them and put them on the back of my GL1000 for additional attention getting.
That left two housings, I noticed if you buy a new one, you get amber and red lenses. So, I ordered two more lights to make a full set of 4, then I noticed they have gaskets so I also got two gaskets.
The new ones arrived, and I noticed that the two old ones had no screws to mount the lenses, no screws in captivity seemed to fit, nor could I identify the thread size and pitch. I eventually decided to buy 4-40 machine screws and re-tap the holes. Menards had no #4 but Lowes had zinc plated #4 x1/2 and #4 x1" I got those.
There were no bulbs in the two old ones and then I looked in the new ones and see  they need an 1157 mini globe. No auto parts store in town had them, they have a decoy bulb that after you rip the package open you realize they don't work. Ebay however has a set of 10 for $15.00 so I got them.
Now I've spent $15 on bulbs, $3 on screws, $4 on gaskets, $6 on bulbs that don't fit, that's $28, and used an entire day of what I have left at age 72, it was a Saturday too. Two new lights would be $42 and ship free. But I saved these two marker lights from the scrap yard.
The upside is the extra-long EMGO hollow bolts needed for the front headlight bucket and ears were with the parts stuff so, one more problem solved.
I took pleasure in cutting the stems off of a pair of junky ass 4into1 K0 rear turn signal brackets but the old-style marker lights are going to look good on the Rat Race bike.
  Customizing old bikes is rewarding.

Been thinking about replacing our oil fired, forced air furnace with a heat pump, for a few years. Costs and payback calculations had me dragging my feet. Applied for a federally sponsored grant a few weeks ago and imagine my surprise when we got “fully approved” for about 1/2 the full cost of the project! No more excuses…….

Best of all, I won’t have to keep our uphill, 750’ driveway clear for the oil truck.

Contractor is set for installation on Thursday/Friday. I need to pull 6-700 litres of oil out of the tank. Called a neighbour that has a 400 litre fuel box on the back of his farm truck and he generously offered to lend it to me, along with a portable 110V pump that should do the job (tank is in our basement). I tuned up his ‘77 GoldWing a few months ago, so he’s happy to help. Living in the country is great!

Pulled out our oil burning furnace, storage tank and associated equipment. Replaced it all with a modern heat pump. Still playing with furnace fan speed and a few of the other parameters, but all good.

Best of all, NO MORE OIL TRUCK DELIVERIES! Our gravel driveway is 600-700’ long and up hill. It had to be dry, clear and sanded/salted whenever he was scheduled. Not anymore! If my wife’s 4x4 SUV can get up the driveway, it’s fine….. VERY Happyish.

Nice.
My brother in law had minisplits put up and solar panels, when there's sun, the cost to run is near zero and banks power costs when not running the A/C and heat. They are selling their pellet stove but keeping the oil burner hot water baseboard system.

Very nice feeling when testing new parts or modifications on the road.

When I built my Kawasaki Z1-B I started with just a bare frame, then melted my credit card buying as much OEM and quality aftermarket parts as I could find for a 1975 900. The only thing that’s bugged me is that while both the frame and engine are 1975 builds, they’re about 3000 numbers apart so too much of a stretch for a “Matching numbers” bike. (like CB750’s they were never matching frame and engine numbers, but usually a few hundred numbers apart at worst)

I’ve been watching a set of engine cases on EBay that are only around 300 numbers apart from my frame number for several weeks from a seller I’ve bought from before. They were originally advertised for $499 USD, then when they didn’t sell were dropped to $450, then I received an email from EBay offering them for $399, so I sent him a counter offer of $350, which he rejected, so I offered $380, which he accepted.

Of course EBay hit me up for the 10% sales tax which I couldn’t avoid, but I’m stoked. I have most of the OEM parts I need to build a stock 900 engine, which I’ll put back in it if I ever sell it, not that I intend to ever sell it. For the time being I’m just going to ride it. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
