I can name several that I have run across via my Amazon Kindle unlimited subscription. I used to commute to work and so did a lot of reading, 80-100 books a year, mostly Sci Fi and fantasy.

Do you have a specific type of sci fi you like?

Possibly the most interesting short story I've ever read:

"Story of Your Life" is a science fiction novella by American writer Ted Chiang

He wrote others and published "Stories of Your Life and Others"

Great writer,

There should be more members here that read science fiction as look at the facts that we take non-running, rusty bikes and Think we can restore them for a mere $100's and it always turns into $1,000's....that's sort of a hopeful dream / science fiction. ha ha

Just about everything from John Scalzi is good...I absolutely love his Old Mans War series and The Interdependency Trilogy

Adrian Tchaikovsky has a lot of good stuff....he's very prolific, so not everything is as good as others.
Joel Shephard (I've read a lot of his stiff...like his Spiral War Series)
Martha Wells (specifically the Murderbot Series is fantastic)
James Corey's Expanse Series is good.  Books are better than the series.
Andy Weirs books The Martian and Project Hail Mary
Gareth Powells Embers of War Trilogy is great....some of his other stuff is also good

I'm sure I can come up with more
