And I understand Mahindra owns it all, they're a huge industrial conglomerate similar to Kawasaki.
If they're squeezing out a million Euro4 compliant bikes a year, their processes must be pretty good.

I'd like to see a factory tour video.

They make a Jeep knockoff that they import here for off road use only due to copyright infringement issues.

Just saw one on the road travelling same direction for about a mile, very nice.

It was pissing down rain here yesterday and so I drove to the mall to pick up some groceries, but to my surprise the only bike I saw was a RE650 Interceptor, which didn’t seem at all bothered in the wet. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

As it turns out the other interested party couldn't flat foot the bike and passed.

So it's mine!

It's got Pirelli Phantoms, it's had the 300 mile service done but hasn't had the 3500 mile service yet. I'll have it on Wednesday.

Thanks. One video I watched the guy said he rode a CB650R the same day he rode the Interceptor, his take was that although the CB has 94hp he wasn't able to use it in the real world except for "more risky overtaking", and that he was able to ride both bikes the same way without pushing the limits of either one.

I wonder how the RE would compare with the old BSA and Triumph 650 twins, or even the Yamaha XS650, which many considered the Japanese Triumph? ;) My 1953 BSA had decent power, but an SL350 Honda would keep up with it until 60 MPH, and given the plunger rear suspension, poor brakes, and forks with 6" slugs, I seldom went much faster than that. ;D

I love that Beeza Scott! The RE650 has around the same BHP as the Yamaha XS650 (my son Tim bought my old XS650 coincidentally) but is just a better bike, as you'd expect close to 50 years so after the fact. Much smoother with better brakes, suspension, handling, nicer gearbox, etc etc etc.

Well done Alan, that bike is the same colour as the Interceptor that I test rode, and I preferred it to the Continental GT that Tim ordered, but of course he loved the "Cafe Racer" lines of the GT. ;D

Another good thing about the RE650 is that this probably won't happen to you when you're riding one. Ouch..... ;D

I've done my share of inexplicably stupid things but I do respect the natural law that any two objects with mass cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

Abstractly, wouldn't it be fun to have a race series with professional riders on fairly limited performance bikes? Like the old IROC series in the 80s? I'd think that would be very entertaining.

Great looking Bike!!

Are the engine covers clear coated or polished aluminum?   If polished it would be so shiny.  I really loved the old English bike with polished engine covers.

Yeah mate, we had the “Bears” (British, European and American Racing Series) a few years ago, Harley Sportsters chasing bevel drive Ducati’s chasing BMW K100’s going around a racetrack was great fun to watch, and because it was racing, and the BMW’s were kicking everyone’s arses teams were modding their engines to produce 3 times the original RWHP. Not sure what happened to the series, but it was very enjoyable. ;D

bears was great but it ended up a ducati only series and that sort of killed the whole point of it .

Well it's finally mine and home with 3878 miles for about 2/3 the price of new (before dealer markup & fees). It's got some maintenance coming up and after my 250 mile ride home I have some other ideas too.

I'll get it plated & insured in my name soon.
