California Superbike School
« on: May 12, 2022, 03:52:21 PM »
I cannot recommend going enough! I’ve been riding  off and on road for 45 years. I learned more and made more improvement in my riding in the last two days than I can even explain. If you love to ride motorcycles you should attend a two day. Sell a bike if you have to. Everything about it was top notch. The instruction in class and one on one with your riding instructor to the support staff. Cannot say enough good about it. Tim

Yes that’s them. I went for the 2 day. They supplied all gear and 2022
BMW s1000rr. On the two day the student to instructor ratio is only 2 to 1. I don’t know if I’ve even seen a better organized operation. They’ve been doing it for 42 years all over the world. They train world champions. Honestly I believe the money was worth it after the first day that’s how much you are given.

I have experienced the same thing. I’ve attended their schools a few times over the years, always learning or improving something more. I’ve taken my sons and they have become very good riders. I’ve ridden with them at Laguna Seca, Barber and VIR. Only once did I ride their bike (SRR at Barber) but always mine otherwise. Preferred mine since the comfort of knowing my bike and it’s feeling as you push was easier for me to gain incremental improvements.

If you don’t have a suitable bike, then I would definitely rent theirs. It was a cost wash between new Q3 tires or a 2 days on their bike (their gas, their oil, their tires, their usage). Plus I didn’t have to haul my bike to Barber on a trailer for 14 hours each way.

The COTA track has particular fees and restrictions, so it’s their most expensive site. I think we paid $600/ on our own bikes at VIR. Even then a 3/1 ratio with rider coach. And their coaches are top notch. Plus the classroom content provides actual evidence of their riding advice instead of some guy giving you his “opinion” about how to do things.

Their Level 1 and Level 2 course is a must for anyone. I’ve got the wife and daughter queued up for Fall or early Spring.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
