CB750F2 rear suspension
« on: May 27, 2022, 05:58:45 PM »
I just got a CB750F2 home and discovered a couple of loose nuts, at the top of the rear shocks.

So I applied some orange threadlocker and a small box end wrench, didn't put a huge amount of force on it.

Are they easy to overtorque? Are they critical to prevent the shocks from falling off? Why would the former owner not notice this?

I'm not mechanically -ept, but I'm (relatively) good at reading and looking things up.

Semi-unrelated question: what setting on the rear shocks preload would be typical for a 200# rider (1=min - 5=max)? Nothing catastrophic happened with it set on "1" but I think I read somewhere that "standard" riders were 150 or so.

Torque to 35 pounds.
May have had a luggage rack.
Set shock adjuster at #3.

Thank you! It did have a luggage rack and that makes sense.
