CB750 K2 drivetrain knocking?
« on: June 01, 2022, 10:14:40 AM »
Recently recommissioned K2 now running after 25 years off the road. First short ride and an annoying knock, increasing and decreasing with speed of the bike, is hard to locate. With the bike’s back wheel off the ground the bike runs in gear without the knock! Once I’m on it knocks. Bike complaining about my weight? Seriously, any clues where to look? Definitely not engine related.

Sounds like something to do with Drive chain, maybe a seized link / rear sprocket/ too much offset on the rear wheel, which should be 0.Maybe front sprocket hitting the inside of the side casing. Or even the chain fouling on the chain guard. Everything is looser when you're not sitting on the bike, everything is tighter when you're on the bike. I've sent you a PM.

Agree. Check and adjust the chain for proper tightness and alignment Lubricate first then check the chain for a binding link.

Does the bike have an aftermarket exhaust? If yes, check to see if the center-stand is hitting the chain.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

If it’s not the chain check the Cush drive
