Trouble with my front wheel and axle

I checked the downloadable maintenance available here but don't see a good pic of the front wheel assembly. When I am putting my front wheel back together the axel is not setting flush with the forks. It sticks out about an inch, that just doesn't seem right. anyone have a front wheel axel assembly diagram?

well I had the bushing backwards what a tard I am, it is fixed

Bet you have the nut on the axle the wrong way round, the hex goed against the wheel
