Depending on if you drive on the right side or left side of the road will determine if you have the triangular finger of light to light up the signs and road shoulder. They only downside is when passing or riding along side other traffic in your direction you light up their driver's side mirror. So, don't hang out there and irritate a cager...

Bulbs sometimes to get the best performance need shimmed to bring the optical bright spot of the reflector into focus for best performance. Most just slap the bulb in and go. The filament needs to be in the right spot for optimal performance. It can make a difference in the light pattern and performance and it doesn't take a lot to make a difference...

H4 bulb housings with good optics really are very nice. Once you experience a superior light you will never wish to return to a std sealed beam or a manufacturer bulb housing. Some cars and bikes really do give some thought to the lighting and make it as good as the cars or motorcycles they sell.
But I think it is silly to drop big $$ on a headlamp if you never ride the bike at night.

One thing you can do to improve your lighting is run a relay to operate the headlamp low and high beams using a new power feed directly from. The battery to the headlamp. The old wiring serves as the control of the relay contacts to operate the lamp. This removes the high current going through your lighting high low beam switch and it lasts longer and isn't going to burn up the switch or wear the switch contacts...

This has turned into a great learning discussion. I hadn't realized the flare to light up signs also lights up rear view mirrors, the Bosch lens in my 78 wing lights up road signs and road sides well.
The windjammer has a chrome frame around the windshield, at certain times of day the reflection will flash on road signs. I wonder how often it will affect a driver around me. The flat windshield glass in my 40 Chevrolet Coupe also does that.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
