don't do it: chain wax for cables
« on: March 06, 2007, 07:17:09 AM »
just a friendly reminder from the "don't ask how I know" department.
i thought I was clever pumping my throttle and clutch cables full of pressure-can chain wax last summer. now it's very cold in NYC and I want to do some riding but the freaking things won't budge.

If they are original cables DONT USE ANY LUBE AT ALL as they are nylon lined and it swells the lining up!
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
