Adding baffles to stock exhaust
« on: June 18, 2022, 04:49:10 PM »
Hello,

Looking to put baffles into my stock 4 into 4 exhaust. I can find the OEM baffles but they're ~$230. Is there a cheaper alternative that will give me results and fit the stock 341 pipes?

Fairly simple answer No

Just do (not) what the previous owner did on the 4-1 on my 350F. Stuff chicken wire into it!! And lots of it!. You would not believe how choked up that thing was. It had a lot of work done on it before I got it, carby kits, Dyna ignition lots of stuff which I assume was to try and get it to perform.
Pulled the exhaust off and I think I found the problem!!!!!!!!Un- be- leiveable.

You refer to 'baffles' for your 341 exhaust?

The 'baffles' are an integral part of the silencer section of the exhaust and are several discs that are spot welded in place during construction and as such not replaceable.

What you may be referring to are just the baffle end caps, see attached, and are available from D Silver or CMS at around $100 for as set of four.

Yes the HM300's had a real baffle pipe but the 341's just had the end cap diffuser. Looks like $135.00 for a set of 4 new seems to be the going rate on E-bay right now for some but maybe some used one will pop up sometime.
