Any of you old timers seen one of these?
« on: June 23, 2022, 04:30:26 AM »
A friend of mines Uncle passed away last year and I guess he did a lot of go-kart racing back in the 70's and his garage was full of stuff that my friend is still sifting through. He pulled out one of these and asked if I knew anything about it. I never head of a POSA carb and had to look it up but a quick search revealed they were some what popular back in the 70's, even had kits were you could set them up on a cb750 and came in different sizes. This particular one is a 26mm, it's outdated for sure compared to new carbs but it's still kind of cool.

Something like Lectron?

I was wondering the same thing but I've never seen a Lectron up close other than pictures.

I can remember seeing some old threads here many years ago, so maybe do some deep searching.  I believe they had some set ups that were marketed as fuel injection, but really they were not.  I think they made a one carb manifold for cb750.  I also seem to remember they were popular on turbo set-ups
If it works good, it looks good...

Actually what little I know about it I found here. While doing a google search it lead me to some old threads here. Yeah it seems it was advertised as fuel injection back in the day when it isn't.

a version of that sort of thing was used on racing 2 strokes ( especially lambrettas and vespas used for sprints etc) back in the 70/80s, they were preset at the factory for the specs you supplied and had to go back for any rejetting

From memeory they were called Wal Phillips Fuel Injectors

Cool! I’ve had a few in the past. WOT is great, just like a lake injector

Here’s one with the manifold for a cb750 ~>

What came to mind for me was the name Lake Injector.  Posa, Lake and Star are all similar and come from light aircraft due to their lack of a float bowl. I believe they are the ancestors to the Lectron.

That manifold looks superior to the turbo manifolds I have but ATP needed more room.
