Took bike out after working on it for months over the winter. Was hard to start but still had tank of winter gas with stabilizer.
One of the things I did was wrap the exhaust pipes to hide some repaired dents. Also, added baffles to some open mufflers and wrapped those with the fiberglass made for that purpose.
Bike ran great for a few hours. Pulled off a highway ramp and stopped at a light when I took off it got significantly quieter. Went from a slight rubble to a whine. Throttle response felt different too. Not bad, just different.
Got just about home and it would stall when I stopped. Started it, let it idle and stalled again.
All I can think of is it overheated.
I'm going to check if the fiberglass around the baffle came loose and blocking some of the exhaust from coming out. Although I did place my hand over both pipes and the exhaust was exiting.
Wondering if I should have rejetted. I had soot issues in the past so I did change needle position which solved the issue I had then.
This was very strange. Wondering if anyone else ever experienced this.
Thanks
