I'm surprised to see the condition of those o-rings Gregg;I installed a Dynojet Stage 1 kit in my 91' CBR1000F.
I left the OEM slide springs in place, even though the kit directions said to install their springs;in hindsight I should have changed them also. I gave the Dynojet slide springs to the new owner.

I bought my 1990 CBR1000F on October 4th, 1990 from Hartley Motors in Wasilla, AK.
Late last year I was recruited to try to repair a machine for a fellow named Rob, that makes leather holsters, known as Simply Rugged. He also used to live in Wasilla, and still has connections/relations there. Nice guy!

She is a beauty.

Yes, very sharp looking bike, Greg.  I'm not surprised to see the bad condition of the o-rings, that is ethanol fuel at work.  Nice job getting it back out there.

I'm surprised to see the condition of those o-rings Gregg;I installed a Dynojet Stage 1 kit in my 91' CBR1000F.

How long ago was that?  33 years for o-rings doesn't seem too bad.  One thing about getting old is I notice I am outliving rubber and plastics.

He also used to live in Wasilla,

It will be 30 years next month since we moved from Alaska.  Weird to think about.

She is a beauty.

Fit and finish on those bikes were very good.

Yes, very sharp looking bike, Greg.  I'm not surprised to see the bad condition of the o-rings, that is ethanol fuel at work.  Nice job getting it back out there.

Thanks Stev-o.  It may be remarkable they lasted as long as they did under the circumstances.

That’s great Greg!  Maybe Claus Studios would be able to make replacement diaphragms?

Thanks David, I'd never heard of that outfit so I looked them up.  Very interesting.  There are chinese-made diaphragms on feebay.  Hard to say what the quality may be like but they are cheap so I may buy one to have a look.  But my experience with chinese rubber (and cardboard) hasn't been favorable over the years.

There are just so many cool bikes out there, soooooo tempting.

So many bikes, and so little time (and money).

Today we worked on Glen's bike. The vacuum petcock had a tiny leak in the diaphragm and dumped into the crankcase. It blew oil all over the motor so we cleaned it up and replaced the petcock along with a fresh set of plugs. Got it running good again so Paul took it out for a short 4 mile test run. There's fresh oil all over the transmission/starter cover area again. It's for sure leaking from the head gasket at the front of the cam chain tunnel and maybe more spots.
So it's blown out the head gasket and while cleaning it up I found bad cracks in the stock exhaust system. The bike only has 16k miles on it and is worth fixing. We're waiting for a decision on the repairs and exhaust system replacement.

Kelly,do you think the head gasket being blown out might have been caused by the mix of gasoline/oil,running it around like that ?

The bargewing has had its clutch hydraulic fixed now, big thanks to Terry for help. Not going to register it until next year when I can put it on classic reg, $90 per year instead of $800.
May get tempted and slap a current plate on it for a few sneaky rides over summer though
i blame Terry

Poor old Royal Tour Star , still on the backburner but I thought I'd get its cover off for the first time since it had a good old go at wrecking my back last summer ( no brakes, rolling it backwards off the bike lift and it took off on its own, it didn't fall but my back took the strain )
I'm thinking of junking a lot of the bodywork, just have panniers.
It also needs new tyres and brakes and the rear air shock seems to have lowered itself since I last looked at it
When it does hit the road it'll share registration with the vmax
i blame Terry

If the clutch is in working order backing bikes off a ramp in first gear and using the clutch as a 'brake' can be helpful.

Spent about three hours yesterday cleaning blue RTV off the top end of the CL350 I'm working on.
The most egregious use of RTV I've ever seen on an engine. Thankfully, so far, I haven't found much actually in the engine.

I'm looking forwards to us going for a ride, you with your dodgy number plate on your Barge-Wing, and me on my other Rocket III with plate borrowed from my other Red Rocket III. (we better take a tow rope so you can tow me home.........) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I washed the Scout bright and early, pulled it into the shop and onto the bike lift.  I anticipated pulling the wheels off so I can take them in to get new tires installed tomorrow, but I hade to run some errands that took me a lot longer than I expected.  When I got back home it was too stinkin’ hot.

Instead, the wheels are coming off early tomorrow morning.  I’m also picking up a new fairing for the bike tomorrow…and also on the list for Saturday morning is an oil change, all fluid check, inspection and a thorough detail.

I'm charging up a fresh Yuasa AGM battery for the 84' Sabre 700S. The last one was an Interstate AGM and had been in there for 2 years after the R/R died high and cooked the previous regular battery. The Interstate died when the starter solenoid shorted out. I replaced the solenoid and the battery would charge up but when I turn on the key the bike didn't power up, the battery instantly dropped to 9v.
