Which bike did these come from ?

They are from an 82/83 Yamaha XJ650 L (J/K).  From all the rust, I'd say they set out side for quite sometime.  The fuel inside is like glue, but I think with a bit of TLC, I can rebuild and save them.

Here's the bike they will end up on.....

Dennis...  74 CB550  79 CBX  82 Seca Turbo  2011 CBR  2012 NC700X

You will regret the bikes you DIDN'T buy much more than the ones you DID!!!  It's never too late to start a new adventure!

Today I welded on the bottom rock guard I made for the 78' KL 250. And I did while standing on one foot. 8)

i used to use , as i'm sure many other do, an old office chair on wheels but with the back removed. i say 'used' as one day before the most excellent hip replacement i was sitting on it doing something to a bike, tried to stand up using my one good leg for leverage and the ba$stard thing shot out from under me, dumped me on the garage floor and due to the aforementioned dodgy hip it took me a good 10 minutes to roll onto my good side, crawl across the garage and drag myself up using a bench to hold onto.

i now have a similar office chair but with a back to hold onto when levitating, having two usable legs helps too
i blame Terry

Over the last few day I fitted a cateye dash to my sporty. Today I wired in and made the last little "fitments"( cuts)
For the dash to sit on right.

Nice work Gurp.

I added an inch of neoprene mat on top of the stock seat foam and stapled the seat cover back on. The seat has a reputation for being a real pain in the a$$ and I'm hoping to increase seat to peg distance to remedy some hip pain.

Nice floor in the shop!!

Thanks! When we bought the house, the PO had painted a portion of the floor and the paint was failing. Epoxy flooring is expensive so I bought these [discontinued] tiles at Home Depot for $1/sq ft and layed them myself, approx 450 sq ft for the 3 car garage. Oil spills/leaks wipe right up.

I finally put some bags on my Interceptor.

The best part is that they hide those stupid gold anodized shock reservoirs.

Next stop mink oil!

There's a lull in SOHC activity at the moment so I pulled out the carbs for the CL350.
I took them apart about five years ago and put them in a box.
Fortunately it looks like all the parts are still there.
The CL350K3 is next on the list to restore.

Anyway, cleaned up the carb bodies and the bowls in the blasting cabinet with soda.
All the original brass looks really good so I'll probably clean that up tomorrow.
Need to order a couple of O-ring kits.

I just have a cheap-o Harbor Freight blasting cabinet.
I use the gun that came with it with a smaller nozzle.
It works pretty well but I have a big compressor that supplies ~15 cfm @90psi.
It looks like this.

I spent a little more time working on the scooter for my daughter. Fixing cracked bodywork with Krazy glue and baking soda, cleaning more connections to restore the instrument cluster back lights functionality, and yanking a dead 'button battery' from the in-dash clock.

I'll return another day with more Krazy glue and a new clock battery. I have to figure out an inoperable horn then it's final assembly time.

Scooter's all back together after an electrical system pm and some more crack repair, time to make it legal and take it for a real ride.
