Hot rod wagon
« on: June 28, 2022, 02:08:59 PM »
I had been wanting to build one of those lowered hot rod pull wagons to pull my kids around at car shows.

With little to no luck finding a used wagon less than the price of new. I got a text message the other day, a good friend told me there was a wagon in the back of my old truck in my driveway.

He got it doing a clean up job and dropped it off knowing I was looking for one.

So of course, the first thing I did was start tearing it apart.

Now I have this stance set the way I want it. I believe I'm going to go with a different Wheels front and rear. I have the rear wheels picked out. Definitely still up in the air on the front wheels.

Of course I would start another project wile trying to clean and organize the shop

Think about some short wide pneumatic hand truck wheels.

Actually I got some 10 in pneumatic tires for the rear the front are more or less lawn mower replacement Wheels but I just needed something a bit taller than the six and a half inch wheel that came with the wagon. Really wanted that fat rear skinny front look.

I used to use a hand truck with 1 1/2" wide pneumatic tires, they are out there.

Well looks like a slight design change with the new wheels. Going to have to bend up a different plate tonight at work.

I always intended to build one of those but never put in the time. I even saw go kart wheels at a swap meet before it occurred to me that I needed it.

Yeah, I get that I've wanted to for a few years now. The stuff come together at not the most opportune time. But never the less it will happen for the kiddos.
Me too of course. Lol. They would have been happy with the beat up wagon it started as, but as a parent and tinker I feel if I "HAD TOO". Lmfao.

I dig that Steve-O.
So many great idea out there for these.
Summit racing sells a little hot rod one for about a 100 bucks already done up. Pretty decent looking little wagon too.

Not going to lie if I see one of these at a flea market or swap meet for a decent price I'm definitely going to scoop it too.

Hopefully this weekend I'll get around to finishing it. Just need to take the front end apart and take it to work. Good migs with gas there. I just have my ole AC225 at home. Not so good for thin stuff.
