eh...wadda ya going to do. It can be..permanently depressing, if you let it.., I just hit 69 , retired 4 years ago , and in these 4 years I've had:...in order.....one stent ( in the "widowmaker) , prostate surgery (found early), shoulder surgery (rotator cuff), back surgery (spondelolisthesis), and this past spring passed a kidney stone of which I am one of the luckier ones as I didn't suffer the massive pain that most do..however,doc says there's more in there.....
.....I consider myself way luckier than most others.....
the positive in these 4 years is..able to get back into a gym regularly, combined with keto, I hang around 186lbs instead of 220. no fatigue, no naps needed......I stopped the statin I'm supposed to take, a calculated gamble on my part, and I take no other meds.....so...
whose to say what the "right" thing is to do.......genetics plays a role also.....
as someone said, this aint for sissies....
