‘77 CB750 F2 Fork Questions
« on: July 29, 2022, 01:50:46 AM »
Hi All, the current front forks on my 1977 CB750 F2 are pitted so I ordered some replacements (from David Silver who are usually spot on) however they appear to be different size.

What I’m trying to work out is if the replacements are indeed suitable. The diameter is fine, the replacement tube is approx. 20mm longer and the oil hole at the bottom is approx. 81mm from the bottom on the replacement vs 65mm on the original. The fork top cap however fits on both.

Given I have no history of the bike, I can’t determine if the original forks are indeed Original (I’m fairly confident they are). So, to return the replacement or re chrome originals.

Good idea to verify which fork tubes your model should have and what you got.

Your old pitted tubes might have been replaced before?

According to this site, lenght should be 585mm

588mm here, searched on partnumber found at Cmsnl

I know that the F model forks are slightly longer than the K model forks due to a change Honda made in the neck angle. I don't know if there is a difference in tube length between single disk F0/F1 and the dual disk F2/3

Yep, after doing some research it should a case that the original forks are around 580mm in length which matches the current set I have. So we are confirming a few things.
