Hey Everyone,

I am from the UK but I am Living in Sweden its cold and dark in the winters in the countryside and I needed something to do.
I decided I was going to get myself a project so I could learn about motorcycle mechanics and hopefully build something cool by spring.

I don't have much in experience of mechanics other than the basics so there will be a big learning curve for me but I'm looking forward to the challenge.
I did some research and looked on the sale sites and I found a very cheap 1980 CB 650 C it didn't run and is in rough shape it has been sat for 10 years, it was so cheap I couldn't really go wrong so I picked it up and I'm hoping with some help to have a cool little café racer by next spring.

I brought it hope a few days ago and thought id try my like and put a battery on it and see what happens and to my surprise it fired right up and actually didn't sound to bad!

Currently I am waiting for new plugs and an oil filter there coming tomorrow and then I can see if it will actually run and idle!
i wont lie I'm going to be doing a lot of research and probably ask a lot of stupid questions but I know its the best way for me to learn so hopefully you guys wont mind helping me along and i will thank you in advance for being patient!

first issue I need to deal with! sump plug has ripped the threads out should I helicoil it?

Welcome aboard Hockster
Remove the oil pan and inspect it for cracks at the threads. If cracked you'll need to weld it first. A timesert is better than helicoil.
