Topic: Aftermarket Tachometers for CB400f

Hello All,

I have a CB 400F (1975) that i purchased without a tachometer. I'm not very familiar with the world of tachs and as far as I can tell the one I would need to replace this one would be a mechanical tach. For some reason all of the OEM ones I have found are absurdly expensive, while most of the ones I find on amazon are electrical. Would it be simple to install an electrical tachometer onto this bike? And are there good options for aftermarket mechanical tachometers that can be used? Will any do or do I have to worry about their gearing in order to get an accurate reading for this particular bike?
