I don't understand the question? Are you asking if PMs are working, and email notifications are working?

A while back the forum here and website sohc4.net offered a limited number of sohc4.net gmail email accounts.  Today mine stoped working after years of use.

I noticed this yesterday, as well.  I just sent Glenn a PM before I saw this thread.  Hopefully this is just a temporary issue.

Same here.  Anything that gets sent to my email gets bounced back, and emails to Glenn at his sohc4 address are also getting bounced.  All I can do now is wait for a reply to my PM to him on this forum.  I hope everything is okay.

I am investigating this issue.  From what I gather so far, Google cancelled free subscriptions to their Workspace product.  I set that up a long time ago to provide sohc4.net email addresses for members since it was free.  Google had announced that the free plans were going away, but that they were looking at options.  Since then, I saw no updates, so I missed the notification that the account was slated to be suspended like all the other free accounts.

I'll see what I can do to get things back.  I won't re-activate the email system under their paid plan, however, due to the cost and hassle of managing subscriptions.  Expect more updates soon.

I checked into this.    Google forced legacy workspace owners to move to a paid subscription (with some exceptions that we do not qualify to receive).  Since the sohc4.net account only had 15 members and wasn't really getting any new signups or hosting any content for the forums or website, so I stopped paying attention to it and did not catch the deadline or I would have given the two active users a heads-up.

For anyone who used the @sohc4.net email and wants to retrieve some personal data, you can see if you can login to Google using a private/incognito browser window and your @sohc4.net email address.  That may (or may not) let you access their data export tools.  The account is still there for the next 60 days.  Unfortunately since I do not want to run an email service and every user account is now $72/year, I am going to let the service expire.  On the slim chance that someone is desperate to get to something they've kept there and all other means of access have failed, I am willing to put some time into seeing if we can get the data out - keep in mind that there may be charges from Google and I am not willing to go out-of-pocket on this.

Thanks, Glenn.  Using Takeout I've been able to get pretty much all the data I need off the old profile, so I think I'm in good shape.  It's sad to see gordon@sohc4.net go away after so long, but I completely understand.

This pretty horrible on googles part.. I have 10 plus years of important accounts, bills, records and farm records. Glenn your no fault to blame and I truly appreciate everything you do for this forum being a long time member on here. I'm surprised on how little of us had sohc4.net emails. I agree not to pay googles ransom and am willing to just switch to a new email and move on. But is there anyway to send, transfer forward, transfer, or record. I can't even log in to send everything over to a new account. I can see my emails on my computer and phone apps just can not search for emails send or receive.
