One ride can cause lots of cleaning.
Insects, my bikes are full of them, my K6 that frequently get a +200km ride has lots of dried kamikaze insects.

I need to lay wet cloths on bike to make the dried glued insects softer a d easier to remove.
They fill all areas..... My helmet too.

Soak the rags with hydrogen peroxide. That eats the bugs and doesn't damage the paint.

Stu,can I use the Hydrogen Peroxide on plastics also? I'm thinking of my helmet & facesheild

Yes and with no damage to the paint or finish.  It's best to do it within a few days so it eats the bugs. Otherwise you will be doing a buffing job.

Yes. I've done it on my helmet and shield as well as my cross country bug catcher goldwing which is totally plastic.

Ready to load. My wife is always surprised how low and compact the Benelli is compared to her KLR650 (which I lowered a few inches) or the cb750’s. She wanted to take it for a ride, but she’ll have to wait until next week! Trailer needs work next.....

Thanks for the encouragement! Borrowed my friends 12’ enclosed trailer today. As usual, wheel bearings are loose, door hinges solid, tires marginal and the lights don’t work! Tomorrow’s jobs...

Been down that road  Paul borrowed his cousins tilt bed golf cart trailer so I could set it up to haul bikes too. I installed better lighting, made a new wiring harness, replaced the wheel bearings, made a locking pin for the tilt bed that never had one and made mounting points for the wheel chock. We also bought new tires for it since the old ones were crispy. Here's a picture of the trailer.

This little Haulmark trailer actually belongs to the older brother of a good friend of mine. I swear he never even washes it because he knows one of us will borrow it every 6-12 months and clean/repair and do what ever else needs doing...... The game now will be to see who blows the first tire off it. He keeps it inside, so the sidewalls are OK, but tread is very worn and they are +15 years old!

I borrowed a buddy's ranch trailer a couple years ago to transport a project K1 bike. 
Blew a tire at 7am on the way to pickup, just continued driving it to the closest tire store and had new tires installed!
He felt bad and reimbursed me for the cost.

Been a while since I spent time on it and it really is easy to look at! Alejandro DeTomaso  commissioned the design when he took over Benelli. He also owned the GHIA design studio, so they penned the bodywork. Even the master cylinder and the tail light bracket melt into the angular style. Unique, but if you look closely you can see the “look” of a DeTomaso Pantera?

Cleaned out the “mouse house” trailer today, what a stink! All the “E track” was packed with dirt and poop too. What a mess. Wheel bearings got snugged up and greased, freed up the rear jack stands, repaired lights and connector, lubed and greased all the hinges. The tires are marginal, but that’s the owner’s problem. I’ll take along some green slime and an air pig.......

It’s such a perfect bike hauler, I think I’ll hide it in my barn and see if he forgets about it!

DeTomaso had a very interesting life.  Came from a wealthy ranching family in Argentina, founded De Tomaso Automobili in 1959 in Italy.  One of the models, the Pantera, had a Ford 351 V8 motor and was sold in Lincoln-Mercury dealerships in the 70's.  It is one of my dream cars.

Kept moving ahead today and loaded up. Spent time with a few extra straps and blocks, the event is a +4 hour drive away from home..... Tomorrow my wife’s (tow) car gets a bath and an oil change. Good to go!

Steve..... It almost happened! When I started this project, the Benelli came with 75% of a second bike. But, no motor. I kept looking at the frame and thinking; what if I just pop in a cb750 motor?Benelli made a 500 Quattro (4 cylinder), using the same frame and bodywork. All I needed was a “Quattro” emblem to replace the “SEI”. Add a set of K7/8 pipes, it would have been quite the mystery bike....

Unfortunately, a nice guy in Quebec is restoring another SEI that had been sitting in a wet field for years. The bottom 1/2 of his frame was completely rotted away! He talked me into selling him all the parts he so desperately needed. He’s an engineer at an aerospace firm and has a great collection. A Honda CBX and a Kawasaki Six I’d never seen anywhere else. Happy to help him out.

“Road Trip” in the morning! Weather was nasty all day, weekend does not look great...... My wife was suppose to come along, but at the last minute her Dragon Boat Team was short paddlers for an event in Stratford, Ontario. She rushed off a few hours ago. My good friend Gary A., has jumped in as “navigator”. Junk food for sure!
