“Road Trip” in the morning! Weather was nasty all day, weekend does not look great...... My wife was suppose to come along, but at the last minute her Dragon Boat Team was short paddlers for an event in Stratford, Ontario. She rushed off a few hours ago. My good friend Gary A., has jumped in as “navigator”. Junk food for sure!

Lots of sunshine here today, you should have it tomorrow.
Tell Gary I went past Bruin Lake today.

That sucks !

The sun poked through at 10 am and the day was great. The very formal dinner in the clubhouse on Saturday night was outstanding, easily 200 people. I wore a tie for the first time in 4 years!

Got beat by and MV Augusta and a Ducati 750SS that sold for close to $500K US(!!!!!) in the past 12 months. Both owned by the same American, they swept the trophy table. Well deserved, spectacular machines. Probably 150 cars, truck, and boats. 1000’s of spectators, many in period dress. Best event I’ve ever attended. Gorgeous golf club, right on Georgian Bay, complete with Lighthouse and over 200 homes surrounding the course. Way out of my league, had a blast!

I though this Moto Guzzi should have won. The owner is +75 years old and when we left in the evening, riding out to the trailer parking area, I could barely keep up with him on the long, winding, paved golf cart path. Ex club racer, he was a hoot; highlight of the afternoon. We scared a few spectators.......

GM brought out three early Corvette concept cars and there were ‘vettes from almost every year, all lined up. Impressive display.

Sounds like a great time despite the rain... How on earth did you keep the bike dry, or was it still in the trailer when the sky opened up? That is a nice Guzzi. You had a great time, that is what matters. Your bike is pretty rare today. Far rarer than those that won.

So, did you bring home a trophy or recognition award?

Would have liked to see that [being a Corvette owner].  Thought it was Italian this year, though?

The class for bikes was “Italian Bikes”. The cars and trucks had almost 20 different classes. Mostly ex show winners, and from all over North America. Astounding level of prep and restoration.....

Kevin.... Honestly, huge fun but wow. One of the fellows we met at dinner had +25 cars, three of which he was showing. I went to see them and each car had a very knowledgeable “handler” with the car for the day. The owner wanted to be free to enjoy the show. These guys (and their transportation service) provide this specialized delivery, detail and caretaking service to many cars on display!

I got the “Thanks for coming out Award”. The Ducati, MVAugusta and Moto Guzzi finished 1-2-3.
We set the bike up the evening before. Three towels, under a water resistant bike cover. Then we used a roll of stretch wrap (about 24” wide) tied it to the side stand foot and just went round and round. A few wraps over the top and under and it stayed dry. Opened it up as soon as the rain stopped.

If you are going to get beat, best to be beat by some fantastic looking bikes.
Wow
I agree about the Guzzi, nice bike. Amazing really,

Steve.... what was really amazing was how quick it went. As I said earlier, when I chased him out at the end of the day (about a kilometre on a winding, paved golf cart trail), the bike absolutely flew. I had to crank the Benelli to keep up! Stunning machine.

John, I felt the same way after spending a few minutes in your garage, slack jawed and goggle eyed after seeing your nice lineup.
Don’t forget: you have won the big prize at the big show.
Me, I have a participant ribbon from Gilmore.

My bike and my favourite Ferrari....

That's my favorite Ferrari model too. Masarati also made a very similar model that is also stunning in silver.

Kelly….. it really was a beautiful car and the guy drove it in the area “tour” the day before. Sounded exquisite.

Yes indeed, first world.
Cool the way they put the alternator behind the cylinders, I don't think many were like that back then. I know the CBX was like that.

I am very envious of your shop, what fun.

Yamaha started doing that in the 80's on the various Seca models. they made a point of advertising it because it made the engine narrower than the equivalent Honda/Kawasaki/Suzuki 4.
