NBD Indian Scout

NBD!  2021 Indian Scout.  Bought it used with 453 miles on it.

Actually, Tuesday was NBD, when I picked it up.  I test rode it before I took the plunge, but I had so much work to do this week I couldn't go for a real ride until today.

It was a beautiful morning in the Texas Hill Country.  I did a 131 mile loop around the block.  The bike is great.  I few things need some tweaking, but overall, I'm digging it, A LOT!  Feels like a cross between my old rigid bobber and my Road King.  Familiar territory.  The engine is really smooth.  Lacks the Harley-like vibration, but still has that V-twin torque.

I've already replaced the factory pegs with Joker Machine floorboards.  Good call!  I've got some saddlebags for it.  Looking for the right mounting setup.  I think I've found it.

I'm also thinking new exhaust, rear shocks, grips and a windscreen of some sort...

Now to sell the Triumph Tiger...

Congrats on the new toy. I'm guessing NBD = new bike day ? Variety is 'the spice of life'.

Thanks, Steve.  The bridge is in Llano.

I'm planning to be at the Harvest Classic?  Speaking of the HC...have you been to the Old Tunnel State Park?  It's an old, abandoned railroad tunnel that is now a home for bats.  It's free and there's a short hiking trail.  Alamo Springs Cafe is next door.  They were voted second place for best hamburger on the "Motorcycling Texas Backroads" Facebook group.  Pretty good.
They're just southwest of Lukenbach.  Maybe ride down to Sisterdale, hang a right and over to Old Number 9 Road and then back north again to the park, then circle back around to Lukenbach...just a suggestion.

Oh yeah, Hwy 16 bridge over the Llano River, been there.

Yes, been to the Old Tunnel Park is but not at sunset to see the bats.  And also to Alamo Springs Cafe as a lunch stop on one of our rides during HC a couple years back.

We did Grapetown Rd to Old SA Rd to 473 east to Sisterdale and then 1376 north back to Luckenbach, good ride.

I'd be interested in doing that on Friday 10/21, and then we typically do a run up to "The Rock" on Saturday with lunch at Pecan Grove. You did it with us one year, right?

Looking forward to it....

I've done the 965 ride past the Rock with y'all three times.  The first time we had lunch at a buffalo burger joint in Fredericksburg.  The next two times it was at Pecan Grove.  I think it was 2014, 2016 and 2018.
