out of country sale Q?
« on: August 31, 2025, 10:21:36 AM »
I have a guy in Brazil interested in buying my 71 K0. He seems to be real. What's the best way to handle payment in a deal like this?

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Bank transfer is safest.
2nd Ebay motors caramel - https://www.drivecaramel.com/ebay-vehicle-checkout
Buyer pays caramel, seller gets paid two days after pickup, short term escrow.
Nothing else if safe

He wanted to pay less without the exhaust and gauges, I agreed, then he wanted to pay even less with the gauges and exhaust hardware. We're done.
The no kill motorcycle shelter may soon make an exception.

List on ebay no reserve, block foreign buyers.

The locals were even worse. One guy offered what the exhaust and seat cost me. Then criticized the 750's on my FB page because one had Mag wheels.
I think he's the guy that followed a Chinese spy balloon for 150 miles before he realized it was bird poo on his windshield.

I’ve sold a few bikes to far away and I always use the same tactic. When my bank tells me 100% of the funds are locked in my account, I will release the motorcycle….

We've done the same thing for distant buyers. And they're responsible for arranging the shipping.

I put 3 of the bikes on their center stands on the concrete floor and scooted them close together. I plan to let go of my storage unit this month, only the GS1100 is currently there and now it fits here.
When time and desire allows, I'll finish this one and auction it.

Thanks for the replies. Marketplace seems to have inherited the a-holes from Craigslist.

nahhh...the market place buyers are wayyyy worse than craigslist ever was.

seriously though...it seems like CB759 buyers, in general, are the worst.  I have sold 5 or 6 bikes in the last year.  Only 1 of them was a 750k.  All the others got way less response, but the other bikes buyers were much more serious and intelligent.
If it works good, it looks good...
