K airbox on an F1 ?
« on: September 19, 2022, 12:43:20 PM »
I have a ribbed K wingbolt style airbox and an F1 that has roundtop carbs. It seems like a no brainer swap but I thought I'd ask if anyone has done it before investing in parts and time.

I also have a big F airbox for the keyhole carbs but prefer the stock roundtops since they are clean and work.

yeah, K airbox works fine on an F1
If it works good, it looks good...

The second time I looked I found an F1 airbox in the storage totes, it was heavy and felt like an air filter was in there. I had to heat a socket to melt its way in to get the stuck female bolt out of the stripped plastic.
It was mostly a mouse condo inside. Lots of corrosion, mouse mess and chewed up filter media.

I may still use the older one, its more user friendly. I have two F airboxes and only one hollow bolt. DaNG.
