Anybody Own a HONDA VARADERO? I DO NOW!
« on: September 19, 2022, 05:43:48 PM »
Looking at A 2008, locally. Very low (27,000 kilometres) mileage, in nice, clean condition. Givi bags, crash bars, aftermarket exhaust, with lots of extras. Probably get it for around US$2500 and move out my KLR 650.

Curious if anyone has one? Feedback appreciated. Thanks! John D.

Yup! Just under 100 h.p. Surprised no one has one?

I don't think the Varadero was sold in the US?
They appear to be rare here.

Just reading some reports and they are all from Canadian magazines. I think you are correct!

Here's a ride report and some other inside scoop if a person is bored for some reading material. Little chunky at around 590lbs wet but I bet nice out on the road. https://canadamotoguide.com/2008/07/10/honda-varadero-test-ride/

When they were new(ish), only problem I've heard of was they had a bad habit of falling off the lift during tire change ;D

Option centre stand? They have large fuel tank and are a bit top heavy (from what I’veread). I really just want a “daily rider” that performs well on gravel/dirt roads around my farm. The KLR650 is flawless fo that, but after 14 years, I’d like to try something else.....

Weight caused the falls, you are absolutely right. Usually they fell when pushed on or off the lift.

It’s been for sale for +5 weeks, on local Kijiji. Can’t resist any longer! I’m in the mood for something a little bigger than my 2008 KLR650 Kawasaki. This one is very low mileage, about 14,000. Hope to see it tomorrow.

You will love the motor.

Aftermarket mufflers with the baffles out. It has a fantastic “pulse” at idle. Maybe a bit too loud.

Would be good if the seller still has the orig. exhaust
