Road days are coming, John.
That bike must be a nice cruiser on most roads.
Its torque must allow low rpm cruising in 60-100kmh on 6th gear. ( And faster... )
Twist slowly and away, passing slower traffic if stopping you or destroying the sightseeing.
Engine spec:
https://motorcyclemojo.com/2008/11/2008-honda-varadero/"European reports claim 95 hp and 72 ft/lb of torque."
Probably at relatively low rpm since is a twin with fat pistons.
Here max torque at 6000rpm, a few hp less
https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Honda/honda_xl1000v_veradero_08.htmlMy K6 with 970cc had 107whp @9230rpm
/68ft-lbs@6870rpm at last 2 dynos late 2022.
Not only good acceleration to +200kmh.
I like cruising on 5th gear without needs to gear down. If not in a hurry, 60kmh and up work fine. I tested from 50kmh (2000rpm) during the carb jetting days.
(Easier to keep the lower speed limits on lower gears)
I do not like to have a car or other vehicle in front of me on nice roads with beautiful surroundings.
Must focus on it before it suddenly slows down.
