Hello Rmak. There was a time that a CL450 was the fanciest bike in Hondas lineup. Was is Candy Apple red or blue, or something else. Do you still have it? Or any of the others you mentioned?

Mine was Blue. Should of kept that one, the only ones I have  are the wife's 1970 50cc mini trail, the 1981 and 1985 scooters, my folks bought them to throw on their motor home when they traveled. Been working on the 76 550F i was given a couple months ago. it only had 9500 miles, and a gas   tank with so many holes in it you could see thru it. parts missing, carb 3 and 4 froze up, lights, elect  issues etc, etc. but it's running now, so I'm really having a blast.
Thanks for all the info and expertise you guys provide on the forum
Rod.

Hello from MN,

CB550 can sit under a tarp outdoors for twenty years and be revived.  Keep plugging away doing the normal, clean carbs, points, oil, and gas tank.

A revived 550 can do a 1000 miles in less than 24 hours more than once.

Thanks MD  and all the warm welcomes from you all. i'm impressed with how well it cleans up and started fairly easy after setting since 87. Have 135 to 145 compression, not the best, but enough to start and run.

When it comes to compression numbers on these bikes, the 4 numbers being within 10% of each other is more important than the number itself.  Compression has been known to rise with running time.
